Charles E. Holmes
Charles Holmes, a graduate of Wofford College, worked in the timber industry and served on the Board of the South Carolin Forestry Assoiciation.
Charles and his family got involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) on the local level, and before long he was serving as an active member of the FCA State Board.
In 1993, Charles offered to help us expand in the Lowcountry/Charleston area as a volunteer FCA staff member. After serving with FCA for three years, his life on earth was suddenly cut short when he died in an airplane accident.
Charles found joy and fulfillment serving God through FCA. He dedicated his life, resources and gifts to bringing God’s love and salvation through Jesus Christ to countless young people and coaches through this ministry.
The endowment will provide camp scholarships for coaches and athletes from South Carolina to attend FCA Leadership Camp, Coaches Camp, and CTO at the Cove in order to help them reach their potential both spiritually and physically.
Charles Holmes had a passion for the impact that this ministry had on students and coaches attending the FCA Camps. The fact is, not only do the campers have a great learning experience, but about 25% of all camp attendees profess to make a decision for Christ while at the camp.
The Charles E. Holmes Endowment will make it possible for more students and coaches to attend FCA camps who need financial support in order to attend.
Application Deadline is May 15, 2024
This Scholarship is for residents of South Carolina attending Leadership Camps or Coaches Camps
